Breast pumping: how does it work with storage bags, etc?
I’m going to start pumping this weekend. Want to go with BPA-free stuff. Thinking about Ameda Purely Yours. Can someone please explain how this works? Not sure when/why you use bags vs glass bottles, etc. Thanks!
I use Medela. Their bottles are BPA free (marked “PP” on the bottom) so I just pump into the bottle that came with the pump and store the milk in there or else pour it into an 8oz Evenflo glass bottle for refrigerator storage. With the Medela pump, you can pump directly into bags, but I find it inconvenient. For freezing, I pour the milk into Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags and lay them flat in the freezer until they are frozen. Those are also BPA free.
