What’s the best way to cut lettuce for a sub style sandwich at home?
I’ve tried using a cheese grater in the past, but it just came out all soggy. I don’t have a blender or a food processor or a meat slicer, and my skills with a carving knife stink. What’s the best way to cut lettuce for sandwich’s?
Always cut lettuce with something plastic so it doesn’t leave the head brown. Make sure when you get your lettuce home, you wrap it in paper toweling –I remove the heart first and then you can keep it in a food storage bag or Tupperware lettuce keeper. This prevents it from getting soggy. Wash lettuce just before using, spin dry or wipe off moisture. If nice and crisp it should slice easier.
Some people like lettuce leaves on a sub….some like it shredded. It’s a personal choice.
