Turning A Swap Meet Into A Fundraiser.
Coming up with ideas for fundraisers can be tough. Always being after the new, the fun and exciting to attract people and raise more money can be difficult. Fun fairs and sales of sorts have been done to death. However, devising a cleaver swap meet so that the only money spent is for admission at the gate, can be a nice spin on an old idea. Charge people to get in, then they are free to trade away!
People can bring items with them to trade and swap with each other. Did you gain weight and find yourself in need of a new wardrobe? Bring the clothes you do not fit in anymore and swap them for clothes that will fit. You go home with what you need and all you spent is the ten dollars admission.
Is a Henckels knife set beyond your financial means? Do you have something equally as valuable though that you would not mind parting with? You might be able to get exactly what you want without shelling out the outrageous amount of money that it would normally cost.
Knife sets are a popular gift to give and get, and so it comes as no shock that many households have several of them. Try to part with one of those sets for a food processor or blender instead. This is such a great way to equip your kitchen the way that you really want to!
You kid needs hockey skates. Your neighbor has a kid that just grew out of a pair in just the right size. Your neighbor just bought a new grill. You have an abundance of grilling accessories that you do not need. Before either of you go out to the nearest store and spend lots of money, have a chat about what can be done. Take your opportunity at the swap meet to make the appropriate exchange.
Are you perhaps after a roasting pan? Do you have a Dutch oven that you would not mind parting with in return for it? On the surface it appears to be a fair trade. Try to hash it out with the other person and see what you two can come up with. You both save a heap of money and get what you want in the end. Better still, it is all for charity.
When you think about how much money people will be saving by trading with their neighbors it almost seems like more of a community service than anything. The admissions fees that you collect will easily raise hundreds of dollars for your organization. To get it done in a single afternoon will make even better for everyone.
