2010 Emmy Award: Odds Favor Baldwin and Collette
The Annual Emmy Awards will take place on Sunday, August 29th 2010 with the broadcast being aired live from the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE, in Los Angeles. The 62nd Emmy Awards will be shown on NBC at 8:00pm EST with last year’s best comedy actor winner Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) 3-1 as one of the early betting favorites in 2010 Emmy Awards odds along with Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) at 2-1. While it is confirmed that Jimmy Fallon will host this year’s Emmy Awards, it is rumored that Kate Gosselin might perform in an opening skit and that Conan O’Brien has been approached to present an award.
Toni Collette, 2009 Best Comedy Actress winner for (United States of Tara) is nominated again and currently at 11-4 in 2010 Emmy Award predictions, with two other nominees from last year who are also nominated this year, Julia Louis-Dreyfus (The New Adventures of Old Christine) and Tina Fey (30 Rock) both at 5-1 odds. Fox Network super hit Glee acquired 19 nominations, the most of any television series and is one of the Emmy betting favorites for Best Comedy Series at 4-1 along with ABC’s comedy Modern Family, which has 14 nominations and is at 5-7 odds to win Best Comedy Series. The Bob Hope Humanitarian Award this year will be given to actor-director-producer George Clooney who will be only the fourth recipient of this prestigious award.
