Here are a few factors to keep in mind when you plan for a designer kitchen for your house:
Go for good designer
Make sure you have seen the previous projects of the designer you choose. Discuss with him the existing style of your home and what changes you have in mind for your kitchen. If possible, bring the designer home and let him see your home to get the ‘feel’ of the place. Also, make sure you come to an agreement about the cost even before the renovation starts.
Matching style
The style of the renovated kitchen has to be a perfect match with the remaining part of the house. For example, a modern, stylish kitchen might look odd in a country cottage. Of course, you could have all the modern amenities in an old kitchen too. Hence, go for a consistent style in such a way that all these gadgets would merge with the background in an unobtrusive way.
Layout

He can tell you where to put your oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc. in such a way that your working space doesn’t get limited or cluttered. The gadgets and other utensils have to be arranged in such a way that they blend with the kitchen without giving the impression that they are misplaced.
Set the intentions
A modern day designer kitchen is not just a place to cook or wash. It is where couple spend quality time together, kids do their homework under the guidance of parents, friends visit to have conversations, etc. Hence, decide what are the activities you plan in the kitchen. If it is going to be a family gathering space, make sure you have set the space for a dining table, television, reclining chairs, etc. Or, if it is going to be a place only for cooking you need only lesser space.
A good designer kitchen is the result of well-planned collaboration. Just by checking out a few magazines and videos you cannot get your kitchen the way you want. Take time to consult professionals, friends and acquaintances who has done the job before. You have nothing to lose by getting a second opinion from another designer as well. After all, a good home is the result of careful planning and joint efforts.
