I am writing a short story and I need to know…?
I need to know about the various tools one would find in use during an autopsy. For example, what are the trays called where items from the body are placed? Such as bullets removed from the victim, or in the case of my story, a knife. Are they just called “trays?” Any information about instruments, or suggestions on where to research online would be great! It’s for my final, Thanks.
I’m not a pathologist but the stands we use in an surgical suite are referred to as Mayo stands so I imagine they use the same thing to place things on. I’m not sure of the exact tools that are specific to autopsies but I imagine they use similar things that we do in living patients like scalpels, forceps, retractors, for evaluation of the intracranial contents they require a special electrical saw but the precise name espaces me, my apologies.
