luckily for me,
she was an old piece,
no rifling in the bore,
therefore, spin was not applied,
As we traversed the field,
my newly found iron testicle and me,
I cackled and cawed
like a crow,
taunting the Hun below,
Nearing now the fortress wall,
I braced for impact.
We bounced and ricocheted,
not a direct hit.
Undaunted,
I mounted the return fire.
Those daft Tommies,
They thought they’d seen
the back of me…
