What are some good ways to remove painted over screws from kitchen cabinets?
We are re-doing our kitchen and want to replace the hinges. We can’t get a bite on the painted over phillip-head screws to make them turn. Any ideas?
the trick is to put the correct sized screwdriver, whether a slotted or phillips head, into each screw, then tap a few times with a hammer. This will generally remove enough paint for you to get a grip on them. Let them soak overnight in a container with some hot water and dish detergent, it wsill all scrape off easily the next morning.
