During the application, keep pets and children away till the application has dried up. If placing rodent baits, make sure they are not accessible by children and pets.
During application, immediately clean any spilling of pest control product with absorbent cloth. Put any leftover in plastic bag, and dispose as per the directions.

Remove all the items from the area that needs to be treated. If any of the family member is asthmatic, avoid using sprays.
For indoor use, empty all cupboards, closets and countertops that you are going to treat, and make sure that the place is adequately ventilated. Remove all the cooking utensils and food items before application of pest control products.
In case of accidental exposure or consumption, contact the local Poison Control Center. Take the product container or label with you, as it will have the required information regarding first aid. It will help in getting faster and appropriate treatment.
