What is the best way to attach a Patch Panel for my Rocker Panel and area i started with my Tools?
Hello YA! Im still at it. I looked at my Rocker panel.. i need a PATCH PANEL the whole thing is -gutted- with Rust.. a Patch Panel will suit me fine.
I have:
1) the Caulking Gun, and i can get more DAP Elactomeris Fire-proof GREEN TUBE stuff, it holds HARD.. cost $15 too..
2) My Putty knife/spreader
3) my Spray Adhesive
4) my Knife, and a knowledge of how to cut Soda Cans FLAT with it (I painted over the Mountain Dew Code Red today)
and 5) possibly buying a Rivet tool.
Now. Where can i get a “Patch Panel” that MATCHES my 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais, 2-door… and kinda goes over the Rocker area, back to the part right in front of the rear wheels, on the Driver side?
and How do i Do it?
I also see the Bondom still 3 different Bond-os, NO WAY i can FILL it i need to PATCH it.. please help me, i may be able to patch the spot I started but the Rocker Panel? Patch…
no no no. that’s just stupid. you’re going to cause yourself more headache than what it’s worth. wire feed welders are cheap. starting at $250 and if you plan on keeping that car you’ll have to do more patching so it’ll pay for itself. just buy one of them get yourself a hammer and dolly set. harbor freight’s got em for about $15 which is the price of that crap you bought. get yourself some sheet metal. hell you can go find a car at a junk yard pull a fender and make a lot of patch panels out of that one fender. cut yourself a piece big enough and just put it in a vise take your dolly and hammer and curve it to the same curve and just make spotwelds around it. in a clockwise mannor and go slow so you don’t warp the metal. then bondo the rest. simple as that. all your going to do with that idea you got is cost yourself more problems than anything else.
