Separation techniques name being used in Hunter Reaction (titanium)?
hey i just got few questions, so to separate titanium there’s 2 process right, hunter and kroll reaction.
so in hunter reaction first is to add coke and chlorine then heat which produced ticl4 and then to heat it again with na to produce ti and nacl4.
so i just got confused in this state, what is the name of the separation technique though. like in copper they have smelting, froth flotation. but whats the name for the separation technique in titanium’s hunter process?

1] It’s TiCl4 + 4Na —> Ti + 4 NaCl
2] the usual impurity is iron, which also forms a volatile chloride, FeCl3, which is separated by distillation from the TiCl4
