What’s the best way to store fruit you have cut up?
In an attempt to eat more healthily, I was going to make a a little tupperware box of fruit to eat every morning. I bought loads of fruit (oranges, bananas, kiwi, apples) but I am wondering, if I put a piece of each into my lunch box, will it go bad (brown) before lunch time?
Assuming it is fine for a few hours, how can I store the half an apple/orange/kiwi/banana I have left so I can use it the next day?
Get some Fruit Fresh and sprinkle it on the exposed half of the fruit. It really does retard browning. If you’d rather not do that, try the hand held vacuum sealers you can get at the grocery store. They really work to extend the life of cut fruit by taking the air out of the bag. The bags can be reused a couple of times, too.
